Kedarnath Dham weather condition in summers experience cools day time average temperature 17 to 20 degrees but in winters are extremely difficult and harsh. Kedarnath Yatra by TrekkingKedarnath Trekking distance 18 kilometres which start from Gaurikund to Kedarnath. The Trek has changed after 2013 flood disaster and since then the 14 kilometres changed to 18 kilometres.  Reach Gaurikund by car or bus or taxi from Guptkashi or Sonprayag.  Gaurikund starts trek way to go via Jungle Chatti- Bheembali- Linchauli – Kedarnath base camp – Kedarnath Temple. Every pilgrim has themselves checked that whether they are physically fit or not. Moreover timings of Kedarnath trek from Gaurikund from 4 am to 1.30 pm the timing fixed because of safety. No pilgrim is allowed to leave after specific time. 1. Vasuki Tal Lake - Its 14200 feet above sea level near Kedarnath Dham. Vasuki Tal Trek from Kedarnath approx. 8 km day time itself you complete spends night at Kedarnath. Vasukital is just 900 meters downhill from Vasuki top.


There is a huge government run tented colony along with cottages as well as rooms run by GMVN and some private home stay, camps, home stay and Dharamshala as well.


There have option for decent food here is the food stalls and roadside dhabas, mostly north Indian food available, it should come as no surprise that alcohol and non-vegetarian food is not served / is prohibited.


  • Get the check-up done prior going on Kedarnath trek
  • People with heart, respiratory and blood pressure problem should not take the trek before proper consulting with the doctor
  • Take Note trek time as you can only trek between 4 Am to   1.30 pm after Pilgrims are not allowed to trek to kedarnath.
  • In case you are unable to cover the trek till late evening you can opt palki or ponies or horses to reach till destination.
  • Things carry: - carry light weight clothes, sports shoes, water bottle, warm clothes,  oxygen meter,   Portable oxygen etc.
